Social networking soite Facebook has found a new ally in the car rental industry.
Leading car hire website Argus Car Hire has announced the release of a new Facebook Car Hire Booking Engine application, forming part of their wider straegy for customer engagement and social media exposure.

Tourists visiting South Africa for the FIFA World Cup did not use car hire services as often as predicted.
Two of the country’s leading car rental operators, McCarthy and Imperial Holdings, said that expectations were not met primarily due to the significant usage of visitors of local public transport networks.

A recent survey, carried out on behalf of Premier Inn, suggests that the cost of attending a wedding is rising at an astonishing rate. The survey found that hotel rooms, presents and new outfits will cost wedding guests £6.1 billion. On average, guests will spend £547 each time they see a friend or a member of their family walk down the isle, according to the study.

A tie up between British Airways and American Airlines has been given the blessing of the EU Commission. The airlines are now a step closer to being able co-ordinate their transatlantic schedules, work together on ticket pricing and share revenues. The commission has also approved BA’s merger with Iberia.
In order to proceed with the tie-up on transatlantic routes the airlines have had to surrender four pairs of take-off and landing slots between Gatwick and Heathrow in London and Miami, Dallas and Boston.
