New arrivals into Kelowna International Airport (YLW) in Canada can now take advantage of Avis car rental.
Situated around one hour’s drive northeast of Vancouver, the airport is just ten minutes from the city centre, and getting into town is simple thanks to the new Avis rental facility being located inside the building terminal.
To celebrate the new depot, Avis has also offered bonus membership points in their Aeroplan loyalty program, with members earning as many as 9,999 Aeroplan Miles on all Canadian rentals of five days or more. The offer runs from now until the end of September.

Hertz Global Holdings has announced the acquisition of another organisation as it continues to expand its portfolio.
1st Call Studio Equipment has been bought from RoadSafe Holdings, with the deal continuing the long association Hertz has with the television and film industry.

British Airways boss, Willie Walsh, has announced that following the airline’s imminent merger with Spanish flag carrier Iberia, it will be looking for partnerships with at least one other airline within a year. Subject to regulatory approval BA will form an alliance with US carrier American Airlines.
Speaking at London’s Aviation Club, Mr Walsh said that the partnership with Iberia would allow parent company International Airlines to scale itself up and take advantage of any opportunities that presented themselves over the next 12 months. Emirates has confirmed that it has completed the sale of its stake in SriLankan Airlines for the sum of $53 million. The airline has given over its share in the flag carrier to the Sri Lankan government at a loss estimated to be in the region of $20 million on the original purchase price and around $100 million on what the airline was valued at just two years ago.
