United Arab Emirates (UAE) holiday drivers heading abroad this summer can take advantage of a great range of new rental deals from Hertz.

Embattled Japanese car manufacturer Toyota is set to recall yet another round of vehicles.
Still reeling from the public and investor backlash at several such recalls to date this year, primarily over safety issues, a new report from the Japanese ministry of Transport suggests that they have been advised Toyota would be placing the recall for Europe and North America.

The joint venture by Europe’s Air France-KLM and Delta Airlines in the US to share revenues and costs on transatlantic routes was strengthened this week when Italy’s Alitalia announced that it would be joining the team. With the Italian flag carrier on board, the venture, which is not a merger, will control just over a quarter of the capacity moving across the Atlantic. It is estimated that the team will achieve annual revenues of around $10 billion.

Although IATA recently announced a dramatic turnaround in its predictions for the world’s airline industry, saying that instead of a loss it saw the possibility of a profit by the end of the financial year, most carriers are still desperately trying to cut costs to cope with the devastation wrought on their finances during the global economic downturn.
